Connect your iPhone
Connect the iPhone with a USB cable and unlock it. The first time, the iPhone asks whether to trust this computer: tap Trust, then enter your passcode. Trust only your own computer, or one you know. Rollport waits and tells you what to do.
Nothing goes over the internet: the photos go only through the cable.

Choose a folder
Choose where the photos go. Rollport suggests a folder: click Change… to pick another, or drop a folder on the window. Then click Use this folder. Use the same folder every time: it keeps a record of what it already has, so each import adds only what is new.

Import
Rollport counts the photos and videos the folder does not have yet, and shows the newest. Click Import.
Files are copied unchanged, so HEIC stays HEIC. Each file keeps the date and time it was taken. Nothing on the iPhone is deleted.
To import only some photos, or to name the files differently, see Using Rollport.
